” We’re all gonna die. We don’t get much say over how or when. But we do get to decide how we’re gonna live. So do it. Decide. Is this the life you wanna live? Is this the person you wanna love? Is this the best you can be? Can you be stronger? Kinder? More compassionate? Decide. Breathe in. Breathe out, and decide.”

Rolling through country side sunsets; wading through urban chaos; witnessing drama at a few DDLJ stations and after quite a few unannounced halts and breakdowns later, it screeched to a halt near the terminus.

Is this the station that I bought a ticket to?

Did I catch the wrong train? Or did I fail to get down at the right ones?

Sigh, I should have pulled the chains then.

10 things I learned this year:

1.Nothing is forever.

“Forever” is just one of those words that greeting card companies and diamond moghuls feed you over time. There’s nothing like infinite good times or never-ending bad times. And there’s nothing that never heals with time.

2.Get a grip on yourself when you think nothing seems to be working out as planned. You may be approaching rock bottom, but hey cheer up, there’s nothing for you to lose after hitting that…

“Sometimes, the key to making progress is to recognize how to take that very first step. Then you start your journey. You hope for the best and you stick with it, day in and day out. Even if you’re tired, even if you want to walk away. You don’t. Because you are a pioneer. But nobody ever said it’d be easy. “

Man Of Steel (2013) Review :Trailer

ImageThere’s little that can go wrong with the most anticipated movie this year and with positive reviews pouring in from across the world , the movie is ready to start with a bang at the box office this friday.

“Conceived by the Dark Knight team of Christopher Nolan and David S Goyer and written by the latter, this latest attempt to reboot the world’s first superhero has built slowly to become one of the year’s mostly highly-anticipated films. It stars Britain’s Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as the nefarious General Zod. The movie currently has an 83% “fresh” rating on the review aggregator site rottentomatoes.com, putting it behind only Star Trek Into Darkness (with 87%) of the year’s top 10 films so far at the box office.”

– The Guardian UK

The movie, unlike the previous attempts tries to focus on the alien Clark, and him trying to find a place in this world. More than any other Superman film since the 1978 one, Man of Steel reminds us that Superman isn’t human.

The hugely entertaining Man of Steel is the best Superman movie since the 1978 original. Cavill makes a great Superman, but we don’t really get a true emotional attachment to the adult Clark Kent until he meets Lois Lane (Amy Adams). The flashbacks to Clark’s youth inform us of his journey thus far and give us a sense of his inner demons. Otherwise, Clark is, as Lois describes him at different points, like a ghost or a cypher.

The movie shows that this Superman’s moral character is formed by his two fathers, Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner). Crowe and Costner are real standouts in this stellar ensemble. Both men loom large whenever they’re not on screen, and their impact on Clark’s life is deeply felt. (Jor-El’s not a Brando-style cameo; Crowe’s in the movie at least 45 minutes.)

VERDICTS:

Action-packed, briskly-paced and featuring a stellar cast, Man of Steel is rumored to be  the best Superman film since the 1978 original and proves DC can match Marvel in the massive scale department. While it could have used a bit more levity, Man of Steel is nevertheless director Zack Snyder’s best film to date.

RottenTomatoes- 69%

Average Rating-7/10 (Reviews Counted=42)

Superman’s return to the big screen is mostly successful, as Man of Steel provides enough exhilarating action and spectacle to overcome its occasional detours into generic blockbuster territory.
